LitLock
Terms of Use
Effective and last updated: August 17, 2026
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the LitLock mobile application and our related legal and support webpages (together, the "Services"). By downloading, accessing, purchasing through, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Your use of the LitLock app is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"), which is incorporated into these Terms. If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA controls to the extent required by Apple or applicable law.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Services only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. The Services are not directed to children under 13.
3. The LitLock Service
LitLock provides focus and device-usage features that may include Screen Time restrictions, recurring schedules, focus sessions, usage displays, local statistics, reminders, widgets, and literary content. Some features require optional device permissions, an eligible device, a supported operating-system version, or a paid entitlement.
LitLock does not provide an account or cloud-sync service. Schedules, session history, statistics, goals, selections, and preferences are generally stored locally on your device. Removing the app, resetting the device, changing devices, or losing local app data may permanently remove that information.
4. License
Subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, LitLock grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial use. No ownership interest in the Services is transferred to you.
5. Screen Time and Feature Reliability
LitLock relies on Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity, Managed Settings, notification, and other system frameworks. Operation may be affected by your permissions, selections, schedules, device state, operating-system behavior, Low Power Mode, system updates, or restrictions imposed by Apple.
We do not guarantee that restrictions, schedules, alerts, usage displays, widgets, or statistics will always be uninterrupted, exact, or available. LitLock is a personal focus tool, not an emergency, safety, medical, parental-control, or security service. Do not rely on it where a missed restriction or notification could cause harm or loss.
6. Free and Paid Features
LitLock may offer free features and paid features. The benefits included with each product or plan are the benefits displayed in the app at the time of purchase. We may add, modify, or discontinue features as the Services evolve, subject to applicable law and any rights associated with a completed purchase.
7. Purchases and Subscriptions
In-app purchases are offered and processed by Apple through the App Store. The product, billing period, localized price, currency, trial or introductory offer (if any), and other purchase terms shown in Apple's purchase confirmation interface before you confirm are the terms that apply to that transaction.
- Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew for the same billing period unless canceled before the renewal date through your Apple account settings.
- Your Apple account is charged when the purchase is confirmed and at each renewal. Apple handles billing, tax, payment methods, price-change notices, and any consent required for a price change.
- A free trial or introductory offer applies only when it is expressly displayed to you and Apple determines that you are eligible. Unless canceled before the offer ends, it converts to the paid subscription shown at confirmation.
- A lifetime purchase, if offered, is a one-time, non-renewing purchase for the LitLock features identified as included with that product. It is subject to the continued availability of the app and does not guarantee permanent compatibility with every future device or operating-system version.
- You may restore an eligible purchase while signed in to the same Apple account originally used for the purchase.
Deleting LitLock does not cancel a subscription.
8. Cancellation and Refunds
You can view, manage, or cancel an auto-renewing subscription in your Apple account settings. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and access continues until then. For instructions, see Apple's subscription support page.
Apple controls App Store charges and refund decisions. To request a refund, visit Apple's Report a Problem website. Refund eligibility is determined under Apple's rules and applicable law. LitLock cannot issue an App Store refund directly.
9. Acceptable Use
You may not:
- use the Services in violation of law or another person's rights;
- copy, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- circumvent purchase checks, access controls, technical protections, or usage limits;
- interfere with, damage, overload, or misuse the Services or related third-party systems; or
- extract or reproduce a substantial portion of LitLock's curated content or databases.
10. Intellectual Property
The LitLock software, visual design, branding, original text, and the selection and arrangement of content are owned by or licensed to the developer of LitLock and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Some literary works or excerpts displayed by LitLock may be in the public domain or subject to rights held by their respective owners. LitLock does not claim ownership of third-party works beyond the rights applicable to its own presentation, selection, or arrangement.
11. Feedback
If you voluntarily send suggestions or feedback, you grant us permission to use it to operate and improve LitLock without restriction or compensation to you. This does not transfer ownership of personal information or content unrelated to that feedback.
12. Third-Party Services
The Services depend on third parties, including Apple for distribution, device frameworks, and payments; RevenueCat for purchase-entitlement management; Cloudflare for delivery of these webpages; and email providers for support. Their products and services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use LitLock, including information stored locally on your device and limited information processed for purchases and support.
14. Updates, Availability, and Termination
We may release updates, change compatibility requirements, or modify or discontinue all or part of the Services. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the Services, or if continued access would create legal or security risk. Any action under this section is subject to applicable consumer law and your rights in completed purchases.
15. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or compatible with every device or future operating-system version. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer of LitLock will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, opportunity, or goodwill arising from the Services. Our total liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for LitLock during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law.
These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer protections, as applicable.
17. Applicable Law and Consumer Rights
These Terms do not limit any mandatory rights you have under the laws of the country or region where you live. Any dispute will be handled under the applicable law and before a court or forum with lawful jurisdiction. You may also have rights or remedies through Apple under the Apple Standard EULA.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to LitLock, our service providers, or applicable law. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required by law. Continuing to use the Services after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
